The Dam Has Broken .....

Spirit of Prophecy Bulletin
SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns -- 12/23/2010:

I had a vision of a beaver dam as it slowly began to leak and then the full force of the water pushed through to destroy the dam. And, I heard the Lord say: Watch for the signs, for breakthrough is surely coming. The power of My Spirit will work in you to bring down strongholds that have hindered the flow of your anointing for some time. Rejoice in this great and yet subtle and supernatural work.

Isaiah 45:2-3 I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the LORD, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel.

A CHRISTmas Story ...

CHRISTMAS IN THE PASTURE

The little old house was looking mighty beat up from the last winter storm, however the glow from the lights that could be seen from the bridge were so warm and inviting it was always the highlight of getting off work and coming home!  As you traveled down the dirt road and crossed the bridge the house could be seen from a distance!

The cattle were unusually close to the fence it seemed that every Christmas eve they would draw close to the little house in hope that the song that rings so beautifully would fill the air once again!  The little house was centered in a pasture that was separated by a beautiful white fence.

The young mother was coming home from a long Christmas Eve hitch at the Dandy Dime country store.  She was very tired and was looking forward to seeing the one thing that keeps her going and always renewed her strength the minute she rushed through the old broken down screen door.

She recalled how a few years back she longed for the big city and was so sick of the pasture.  She longed for the excitement of the inner city life with all the trappings of the world and everything that went along with the freedom of leaving home. Now, as she tearfully gazes at the beat up old house and sees the object of her heart’s love sitting in the curtain less window she paused for a moment and thanked the Lord for bringing her back safe and sound to that old house in the pasture.

She recalled how lonely and lost she felt in that city. No one to talk to that really understood her. Not one person could feel her heart’s cry the way her Mama did. The many lonely nights that she sat all alone in the dark waiting for a chance to share the good news she had just found out, she was with child. And then she finds herself, on a bus headed back to the one place she despised so much.

As she pulls into the drive way, which is grass and very well worn from the many trips to the Dandy Dime she spots this little, tiny girl sitting on the window sill watching the cattle as they ate their evening meal.  The porch light caught a glimmer of her golden curls as she exclaimed in excitement, “Mommie’s home!” At that very moment the young woman realized just how blessed she was and how much she adored this little house in the pasture.

She rushes through the door way and is met by the biggest hug that a little, tiny three year old could give. Nothing could compare to the love that she felt at that moment.  Mommie! Mommie! Did you see the cows?  Mommie! Mommie! Can we feed the chickens?  Well a few years ago feeding those chickens would have made her angry, but now it was the highlight of her evening. “Yes, Moriah we can feed the chickens!”

Mama was in the kitchen preparing a quick supper and she called and said, “Don’t forget to gather the eggs girls; I did not get a chance to do that today.”  As the two headed out to the pasture Moriah asked her mom something that brought back so many memories from years past.  Years that she wanted to just forget.  Mommie, she exclaimed! Grandee said we have to give Jesus something special tonight. She said that if we give Him something from our heart that’s what He likes the most.  The young woman recalled those years that she and her brother and sister were taught the same thing.

But this time, coming from her own daughter’s mouth a change took place inside her spirit.  At first she had no answer but the little girl was persistent.  Mommie, “What is your heart’s gift to Jesus”? The young woman was quiet and began to speak with a very shaky voice.  “This year Moriah, I offer Him not only my heart’s gift but the gift from His heart that He gave me”, she said crying.

“Don’t cry Mommie, Jesus loves you”. “I know Moriah, because He gave me you”.  They fed the chickens and gathered the eggs and then rushed inside the little, old house.  Grandee! Grandee! She squealed.  Mommie has a heart gift for Jesus! The grandmother turned around and looked at the tear stained face of her daughter and questioned, “Oh child what’s the matter?” Her daughter never was a big talker.  Seems she did most of the talking herself for years when it came to their conversations.  Then this year this little, golden haired girl had all the words so none were needed.

The mixing bowl was ready for the cake batter; the daughter could see it on the counter.  “What flavor is His desire this year Momma”, she asked? This was the first time in many years of the Christmas Eve tradition that their family shared that the tone of her voice was not sarcastic and was sweet and drenched with love.  Ever since the first Christmas that this little family had come to know Christ their Christmas Eve celebrations became a unique gift to the Father of Heaven.

For years they spent hours wrapping presents, stringing lights, and cooking all sorts of delicacies.  For years, arguing was the main music of the houses past.  But in an instant the motives were changed to bring a warm glow and hug to the One person that meant so much to the Mother.  Every year at 12:00am Christmas morning the woman and her three children would request in prayer what the Lord wanted to hear for His birthday.  The Mother would always ask, “What does Your heart Lord desire of ours?”  The children were never really paying attention but the Mother was always attentive to the Lord’s heart.

She had always baked a cake the night of Christmas Eve and they would get the CD player, and go out in the middle of that pasture and play the one song she felt in her spirit that the Lord has requested of her.  The candle was lit.  The children were in place and the music started.  The daughter would always open her eyes to see what would happen when her mother would begin the song.  You could here the rustle of feet and the scurrying of wings and when you looked up over the fence you could see that the cattle had made their way right up against it.  Even the birds and the chickens nestled on the fence.

The daughter recalled how she watched as her mother sung each word with tears streaming down her face.  She watched as the cattle bowed their heads and the chickens seemed to fall asleep under the power of the music.  It was as if you could hear the words for miles around.  Not one sound interrupted that song.  Not one word was uttered until it was finished.  Then, eyes were dried, the knife was brought out and with the loudest shouts they would all scream, “Happy Birthday Jesus!”

For years the young woman despised that tradition.  Then this year her heart would change as she was led to that very same pasture once again.  Mommie! Mommie! Moriah exclaimed! “What kind of cake would Jesus like this year?” The young woman was speechless. She and her daughter had only been back in the pasture for three years and it seemed that the Mother’s tradition was firmly planted into this little child’s spirit.  Once again the child squealed, “Mommie, what kind of cake?”  Finally the young woman spoke and said, “Let’s do something different this year”, her mother looked puzzled and raised her eyebrow in disapproval.  “What Mommie! What Mommie”, the child exclaimed.  “How bout you choose the flavor”, she said swooshing the little girl into her arms. The mother looked relieved and the young woman was met with squeals of joy!

Oh Grandee! Oh Grandee can I? The grandmother had to wipe tears before answering her granddaughter.  “Yes Moriah you surely can’, she said as she bent down and kissed the top of those beautiful golden curls.  “Well let’s get started child its close to midnight”, said the grandmother..  “Ok, Grandee, this is the one”, the little girl said with the box of mix in her hand.  “What a glorious choice you have made Moriah.”  She looked at the box of red velvet cake mix and asked her granddaughter why she had chosen this one.  The little girl replied, “Red for His blood, white because He’s pure and velvet because that’s what His kisses feel like.”  The grandmother was crying once again but to her amazement in the corner of that dimly lit old kitchen was her daughter sitting crying also.

The cake was in the oven, Moriah had her bath and the young woman was expecting her baby daughter to fall fast asleep.  But she remembered the song.  She told her momma, “Mommie what does Jesus want to hear on His birthday this year?”  The young woman once again looked puzzled.  The grandmother chimed in, “Let’s do something different this year.” This time the daughter looked at her mother with amazement and with a raised eyebrow,  “Let’s let you choose Moriah,” said the grandmother.  “Oh I know Grandee! Oh I know” the little girl squealed.  She ran to her ‘music box’ and pointed to the one song that had been in her grandmother’s spirit all day. “Ok said the grandmother, this one it shall be.”

Now Moriah could not tell time yet but she knew it was getting close to the hour.  The cake was done, the icing was on and the candle was in place.  Her grandmother grabbed the knife and the CD player and also coats because it was bitter cold out there.  The three of them bundled up warm and made their way out into the pasture.  Moriah was in her Mommie’s arms and Grandee had the cake and music.  They looked at the watch and just as it became Christmas Day the music was put on but something was different. This year the most glorious sound came from the sweet mouth of the tiniest little girl.

As she listened to the music she began to sing the words, then she got down and danced for the Lord the most beautiful dance you have ever seen. Twirling and whirling as if she was right there at His feet.  But, He was there! Right there watching this tiny child bring Him glory with the only gift she knew how to give. Her heart!  You could hear her, “Would I stand in Your presence or to my knees would I bow.”  As she bowed on her tiny knees you could see the animals kneeling also.  Right there, in the middle of that pasture for the first time in years the young woman made it to her knees and cried with her heart, “Thank You Lord for the greatest gift I will ever receive in my whole life, a child that knows You and feels Your heart and for my salvation.” The grandmother was sobbing as she watched the two generations finally come to the knowledge that, “No Moriah, and Dawwna there is no Santa Claus, but there is a Jesus!”

Okay ... Alone!

Okay … Alone

The sound of the alarm clock seemed like it was magnified in her ears this morning. She had always dreamed about living in the mountains and now she was, and today the LORD blessed her with the most wonderful tip tapping rain fall that caused her to miss the wonderful life she lived in that little house with the old tin roof so many years ago.

The room was so warm and cozy she was almost regretting having to get up and start the fireplace … ‘almost’. This had become a part of her morning routine that after some time had passed she fell in love with. Besides, if she wanted heat she would have to light the fire. She got up thanking God that it was just raining and cold and not snowing!

Just then she heard the jingling of a tiny bell and she knew that Jonah had been aroused from his warm nest near her bed and was in a hurry to say good morning and do his best purring for his morning chow! He was a great, big, fuzzy, black and white stray that the LORD led to her many years ago. He has the biggest green eyes and the white on his chest and the black on his shoulders make it appear that he has a tuxedo on.

He casually jumps on the ledge near the fireplace; she can never resist those big green eyes, so into her arms she whisks him spinning around and giving him the biggest squeeze ‘good morning Jonah!’

She checks his bowl and of course it’s empty. Jonah has never been able to waste even one tiny morsel she has ever put in his bowl. Fresh water and a tiny bit of tuna and he is set for the day! Now onto the fire, which was the very reason she got up.

This chore had become a favorite of hers since the Holy Spirit taught her such a great lesson about what that fire represented so many months ago. We as God’s children are responsible for the ‘fire’ in our life. Both good and bad the flames burn because of our input.

Many times people complain that they have ‘just lost the fire of their flame for God!’ What I have learned from my times of dryness was that the more we ‘fuel’ our passion for Christ the hotter His flame burns within us. And, the more we ‘ignore or pull away’ from Him the more that precious flame withers and then if we are not careful it can and will go out!

A life without Christ I feel in my spirit would be worse than death. Because, if He is not reigning with us now, if we die where will we reign? Life without the very Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit is a fate that can occur in a Christian’s life no matter how long they have walked with the LORD.

His Word says that ‘My Spirit will not always strive with man.’ So yes we can lose His Spirit. Our main goal in life should always be to keep those fires burning in your hearts, minds and spirits for the LORD! Feed your spirit man and eat richly of His divine meals. Each book in His Bible has a full course meal and then extra for you to share later.

Drink deep of His ever flowing water. Drink and be full. Filled to the brim and running over. You can never have enough or too much! He will never turn you away. That water flows for you! Stay washed in His Spirit and cleansed by His blood! Partake of His divine meal daily! No calories to count, no portions to measure, and no moderation is ever needed!

As she stood there watching the fire burn she was caught up in His love and His Spirit. For so long she blamed this or that because her spiritual life was not burning ‘hot’ like it once was. After this revelation she never again placed blame on anyone but herself.

We have to work out our own soul’s salvation. No one can do this for us. It’s a personal journey between you and God. You have to choose what is most important in your walk with Him. Just having a relationship is no longer worthy of her time; she now devotes her most intimate time to Him. He is her breath, the very air that causes her to live. Nothing and no one is more important than Christ to her. His call upon her life now takes precedence over all that goes on in her life. That’s not relationship that’s a ‘divine union’… you know ‘you for me and me for you’. In Him she has found her very existence.

Put aside all that you may think needs your attention. Nothing can ever be more important than the time you spend at His feet, in His arms, wrapped in His love.

Let It Go!

One thing we have a hard time with is ‘letting go’. I’m thankful someone passed this on to me. I hope you get out of this what I did. Comfort in knowing we are not supposed to raise the dead or dwell on our past. What happened, happened for a reason. Learn from it and move on. Thank you Mr. Jakes.

Let It Go – by T. D. Jakes

There are people who can walk away from you.

And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you: let them walk.. I don’t want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone.

When people can walk away from you let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

The bible said that, they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. [1 John 2:19]

People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if they are not joined to you, you can’t make them stay.

Let them go.

And it doesn’t mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over. And you’ve got to know when people’s part in your story is over so that you don’t keep trying to raise the dead.. You’ve got to know when it’s dead.

You’ve got to know when it’s over. Let me tell you something.. I’ve got the gift of good-bye. It’s the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye.. It’s not that I’m hateful, it’s that I’m faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He’ll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I don’t need it. Stop begging people to stay.

Let them go!!

If you are holding on to something that doesn’t belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to past hurts and pains LET IT GO!!!

If someone can’t treat you right, love you back, and see your worth LET IT GO!!!

If someone has angered you LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge LET IT GO!!!

If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents LET IT GO!!!

If you have a bad attitude LET IT GO!!!

If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better LET IT GO!!!

If you’re stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him LET IT GO!!!

If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship LET IT GO!!!

If you keep trying to help someone who won’t even try to help themselves LET IT GO!!!

If you’re feeling depressed and stressed LET IT GO!!!

If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling yourself and God is saying ‘take your hands off of it,’ then you need to LET IT GO!!!

‘The Battle is the Lord’s!’

Are You Ordinary?

Never Overlook the Potential of the Ordinary

"Despise not the day of small beginnings." (Zechariah 4:10, NLT).

God always does extraordinary things with ordinary stuff. Just look at what He made with dirt — YOU! How amazing is that? The Bible tells us that He made everything out of nothing. He is the CAN DO God. With Him nothing is impossible.

One day a young boy showed up at a crowded event to hear a traveling preached talk about wonderful things. He never dreamed for an instant that he would become the central character in an epic moment of history. The preacher was Jesus. The young boy was the lad with a small sack lunch containing two fish and five loaves of bread.

It was just a sack lunch on any other day, but on this day it became the stuff of miracles. It is amazing what can happen when you place something in the hands of Jesus. What do you think could happen if you placed your life in His hands?

You may be just an ordinary person, with ordinary looks, and ordinary thoughts, ordinary talents and ordinary dreams — but Jesus can do something amazing with that sack lunch of yours. If you just let Him have it.

Most people never reach their full potential in life simply because they overlook the potential of the ordinary. If you simply start where you ARE, instead of waiting to start until you get to where you hope to go — you will become all you ever dreamed of being!

Little by little. Step by step. Day by day.

Like Mary did on that first night when God told her of extraordinary things, say yes to God and let the miracle begin to slowly grow inside you.

Never overlook the potential of the ordinary. That's the first of three great lessons we learn from Mary's humble response to God's invitation. Lesson Two will come tomorrow.

I Want His Peace ...

"Let the peace of Christ rule," and "Do not let your heart be troubled," and "Let your requests be made known to God." The word let speaks of choices we can make with realities that are at hand. Remember, even as circumstances begin to trouble your heart, you can retreat from fear. For the peace of God is also accessible. Take authority over your fretting, worrying attitude, for "it leads only to evildoing" (Psalm 37:8). Stand, instead, in faith upon the promises of God.

Peace is our shield and the Word of God our weapon. Therefore, capture negative, unbelieving thoughts that would magnify problems rather than magnify the Lord. Our Father knows what we have need of before we ask Him (Matthew 6:8).

Cease striving and know that He is God! If you are weary, come to Him and take His yoke upon you. You will find rest for your soul. Finally, recall Paul's words to make our requests "with thanksgiving." Many have been thinking too much and thanking too little. Therefore, let us cast our burdens upon the Lord, for He indeed cares for us. He will make a way.

The Purpose of Prayer Pt. 3

The Purpose of Prayer (Part 3)

"To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne." (Revelation 3:21).

Three things happen as we pray. First, we have fellowship with God. Second, we cooperate in bringing God's will to Earth. And, third, we are being prepared for Eternity.

One thing is certain about Heaven — we will not sit around on fluffy clouds strumming harps and eating yogurt, preening our wings and polishing our halos. No; nothing like that at all. Instead, we will reign with Christ, for that's what the Bible tells us.

"To him that overcomes," Jesus said, "will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne." (Revelation 3:21). John gave us a glimpse into this exalted place, and we hear a mighty host of ransomed men and women from all nations singing, "You are worthy O Lord, for You have made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." (Rev 5:10).

And the standing promise of the Ages, which fills our hearts with unshakable faith — the kind that overcomes the world — says it in perfect clarity: "They shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light: and they shall reign forever and ever." (Rev 22:4-5).

Our struggles here on earth, which intensify our resolve in prayer, become the very means whereby God is readying us for that place where we shall reign with Jesus. One old preacher called prayer, "reigning training." Its the process whereby God deepens our faith, broadens our vision, sharpens our discernment, awakens our passion, and unleashes His power.

The purpose of prayer is to train you to reign with Jesus. So when you bow your head to pray, remember — every king kneels in order to be crowned.

Good Morning LORD ♥

The rain and fog have given way to glorious Sonshine today here in the majestic mountains of Paradise CA. I feel so strongly in my spirit that when the rains come with such force that the LORD has been crying with us over what He has to make intercession for.

Yes, He knows what we have need of however, have we ever considered what He has need of? What prayer request or petition has brought Him the most grief? How impossible did the prayer seem to the one or ones that offered it?

Today, wherever you are, take a few seconds if you cannot spare more and inquire of the LORD what His heart may require of you today. Be diligent to obey when He shows you. Nothing is too hard for God right? Then nothing He requires of us should be too hard for us … why? Because we are “more” than Conquerors with Christ Who strengthens us!

Give a little more today than you gave yesterday! Consider the One Who always considers you!

Have a Glorious day!

Eph 6:18, " Pray in the Spirit at all times. Pray with all kinds of prayers, and ask for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready. Never give up. Always pray for all of God's people.”

The last weapon in our armor is prayer, and takes in all sorts of prayer, mental and vocal, public and private; and every branch of it, as deprecation of evils, petitions for good things, and thanksgiving for mercies: and which should be used always: this stands opposed to such who pray not at all, or who have prayed, but have left it off; or who pray only in distress, and it suggests, that a man should pray as often as he has an opportunity; and particularly, that he should make use of it in times of darkness, desertion, and temptation: and this, when performed aright, is performed "in the Spirit"; with the heart, soul, and spirit engaged in it; it is put up with a true heart, and a right spirit, and without hypocrisy; in a spiritual way, and with fervency, and under the influence, and by the assistance of the Spirit of God.

The Netting ....

The Netting

The morning sun came blazing through her window at the same time each day. Today the sky was a bit overcast so she was a bit late starting her daily morning routine.

She rushed through her shower, completed her hair and was hurriedly trying to locate her other brown sweater, the one that she always wore when the winds were cold.

As she was rummaging through several places in the cluttered closet she was suddenly bopped on the head with her hand bag and just for a moment in time she was taken back to a time she had thought she had forgotten.

Slowly she shifted herself and was now sitting on top of an old bag she used for overflow storage for clothes that were too sheer for these cold winter months they were experiencing in the majestic mountains she has long called her home.

Gently she began to sort through her purse contents that were now spread out on her closet floor. To her amazement she could not believe she was able to store so many non-essentials inside the few pockets of her bag.

She decided to place only those things that were greatly needed inside this time. She began checking off silently in her mind as she picked up her wallet, keys, glasses, checkbook, pen and name badge. Something was caught on the pin of her name tag. At first she was curious because she knew she had not worn anything taffeta in years.

Caught on the pin was a bow tied with two small circles of taffeta netting. A cold shiver ran over her and she was taken back to the words that were spoken over those circles so long ago. Tears began to fill her eyes as the sound of the voice came rushing back in her spirit. She could hear the voice just as though the woman was speaking right next to her.

The sheer, netted, heart shaped circles symbolized two separate individuals. The transparency of the material symbolized how we should be very transparent with our feelings towards the one we are about to enter into a marriage covenant with. We should never hide or hold back anything that could cause a division in our union. She recalled how the woman twisted the two hearts right down the middle which symbolized how unique and complex we are as humans. Then she took the two pieces of twisted material and placed them directly in the center mark of each other. This symbolized the union between these two individuals. Next, she made a beautiful fluffy knot right in the center. This symbolized the union with God, husband and wife. The two have now become one person, one flesh, one heart. She also recalled the minister saying that the union was even more so in heaven and it was in earth. He went on to say the tighter the knot, the closer the union will become.

By this time she was on her face weeping before the LORD. How she recalled the first memories of her failed marriage. She then remembered those long, lonely nights that kept her awake crying out to the LORD for comfort and peace. The lonesome drives and great movies on the television. The distinct sound of another person’s breathing. Her mind continued to race on and on.

How she began to feel those old familiar pains of how she had failed the LORD so miserably. And how she thought she would never be able to be as close to Him as she once was. How she felt she had betrayed His love, His faithfulness, His care and the comfort He had bestowed upon her for so many years prior to her marriage.

Suddenly she was whisked away as if she was transported right there at the feet of Jesus. The sweetness of His voice and the warmth of His touch brought her back into union with Him. Pain eased, doubt was gone, the past faded and all that was left in her was the warmth of His love.

How she cherished that feeling. How she had grown so accustomed to His tenderness over the years she had spent totally engrossed in His presence. Nothing and no one could ever take His place. How she missed the intimate fellowship she was longing for during those months she lost trying to fulfill her own destiny. Those months chasing after her past and trying to fill in spots of time that were lost seeking man and not Christ were now behind her.

Could it be possible to love anyone more than she felt His love for her? Gathering her purse and wiping away the tears on her sweater sleeve she hurriedly tucked the netted bow into her bosom and rushed out the door. As she started the car the song on the radio brought her back to a more pleasant place in time and also caused her spirit to soar. She whispered at first, “if not for You” … She began to ponder on the goodness of the LORD and how faithful and loving He has always been to her. She raised her hands in a loud praise to the One that had stolen her heart so many years ago. “You are all I need” … “All I need!”

Phil 1:6, “I am sure that the good work God began in you will continue until he completes it on the day when Jesus Christ comes again.”

Heb 6:18, “These two things cannot change: God cannot lie when he says something, and he cannot lie when he makes an oath. So these two things are a great help to us who have come to God for safety. They encourage us to hold on to the hope that is ours.”

Phil 1:9, “This is my prayer for you: that your love will grow more and more; that you will have knowledge and understanding with your love.”

Phil 1:10, “That you will see the difference between what is important and what is not and choose what is important; that you will be pure and blameless for the coming of Christ.”

Co 13:7,” Love never gives up on people. It never stops trusting, never loses hope, and never quits.”

1Co 13:8,” Love will never end.”

A Revelation In The Rain ...

What ‘Cry’ Are You Hearing?

I sat here on a conference call with another minister and once again she was sent by the Lord to speak a word in season to me.  Seems that I have been a little slack on the draw lately when it comes to putting out the Word of God and also getting out the messages that He has given me by the Spirit to speak.

It’s not that I have not heard what He was speaking it’s just that I really did not want to be the one He was calling to speak that particular message.  YES, I know ‘shame on me’…However, that’s my duty to Him as His messenger but also my duty to anyone out there that might just be going through this as well.

I feel that the majority of us have at one time or another ‘heard’ and ‘responded’ to the cries of a child or the cries of older young adults.  Our family members, good friends you get the picture.  Those that we have an intimate association with seem to gain the choicest amounts of our ‘good Samaritan’ works for the Lord.

Let’s begin by defining the word or the emotion ‘cry’:
  •   a loud utterance of emotion
  •   demand immediate action
Of all the definitions these are the two that spoke to my spirit the most.  I have found over the years when a person speaks in a ‘loud’ cry that usually ‘demands’ an ‘immediate’ action on our part.  However, what if the person or persons crying out are not speaking with words but with the very situations they find themselves in?  Trusting and believing in the Spirit of God. Not once have they uttered a cry for help to any one particular individual.  They have spoken only in prayer to God, a God they know hears the cry of their hearts.

Now, when God hears that cry He always sends some help.  He speaks that need upon the hearts and spirits of whom?  Would He speak to just your average Joe on the street?  Well He could do that, however, most times He is speaking to you and me His servants.  I know this, He never speaks the need of others to those that do not have the provisions or who cannot acquire the provisions from elsewhere to meet the need. He never overburdens you to meet that need He just unctions you by His Spirit.

If God feels so certain that a need has to be met and He’s contacted you then you better believe it was important enough for you to give that need your top most priority because He, the God of this whole universe spoke it to you! Not coerced by man but spoken right to your spirit from His!

I’ll use my family and me as an example.  When we first arrived here in California we really were in one of those ‘loud crying’ states.  Not the actual state but a frame of mind so to speak.  The minister that brought us out here after two days needed us out and at this point we knew no one other than him and his wife.  However, because of situations outside of our own control it was best that we high tail it elsewhere even if that meant sleeping in the moving truck until something opened up.

Now, you would think that as a large as this city was, with churches on every corner we could have been able to choose any of the denominations or even non-denominations to help us.  Besides, this man was well known in this area so I just knew he knew others that could put us up even if it was just in a garage for a few days.  That did not happen.  Well, low and behold the Calvary arrived just in the nick of time.  Or should I say God sent the ‘Ram in the bush’…

You see I cried out to the Lord and He heard my cries and He answered immediately!  Not in two days, not even in one day, His answer rolled around the corner just at the right time!  From no word of mouth.  From no referral.  Just by the spirit our cries were heard.

This form of immediate relief was a deciding factor in my life to make sure when a cry such as ours came before my eyes or was dropped in my spirit I would take care of it immediately because that was how the Lord dealt with my cries.  They mattered to Him.  They brought a sense of urgency to the Master’s heart and He acted upon that concern right away.

What I have been noticing lately is this, many of us are hearing that urgency and feeling the need in our spirits but we are not willing to sacrifice whatever it takes in our own lives to see that such an immediate need is met.  I can promise you this, if it mattered enough to God to alert one of His chosen then guess what, it better matter enough to us to see that His will gets accomplished on earth as it is in Heaven.

We tend to be more destructive than discerning.  We want to tear apart the situation and rationalize why those individuals are in the way they are in.  That becomes our focus I can hear the pompous voices of the ‘high and mighty’ “I ain’t gonna  curse my seed by doing that for thus and so.”  How could you curse anything that is already cursed as it is because you are claiming it for yourself and not for the Kingdom?  Come on people of God.  Ministry is not beautiful all the time.  There are times when you need to go to the uttermost, guttermost parts of the world to bring some help to those in need.

How many people are sitting in the churches wearing expensive suits, driving expensive cars and shouting halleluYah ‘look what the Lord has done’, when right there in their congregation are people right in your face that made their way past whatever challenge they were facing to come to the alter and hear what the Lord was going to do for them.  People if a brother or sister needs a financial blessing then that means what? ‘MONEY’ and if the church or the body that inhabits the church is able to meet that need they better dig deep into the well and bless.  If God told you to do it you better not debate it away.

Same goes for Miss Maime down the road that has not been to services for a long while.  Somebody better be picking up that phone if you do not ‘want to waste your gas’ to drive that far and finding out what’s going on with her.  What about little Johnny whose been sick and in the hospital for the past three weeks and maybe just maybe we can hustle up a crew of warriors to go and at least pray for the child.  WHAT about his mom?  Does she need clean clothes?  Does she have enough money to buy food while she’s there?  What if she had to take off of work to be with the child?  Is she single or married?  If she is married and the two parents are taking turns sitting with the child what can we do for them to make this burden lighter?

What about sister Joan?  She’s way out in the sticks and she doesn’t drive.  Has anyone called to see if she might need a ride outside of her ‘token ride’ to church to maybe get some groceries?  Has anyone even asked her if there are any things that she may have need of besides the necessities?  What is her heart’s cry?  Has anyone even considered it?

What about Mr. Joe down the road?  He’s not been outside to get his paper in days.  Has anyone even wondered why? His plants are all dry and the curtain has not been pulled from the front window in what seems like months.  Do we have just a moment to spare to even consider what might be wrong with this picture?

NO!  Most people who call themselves ‘christians’ concern themselves with little less than their inner circle these days.  God forbid it’s our own family members that are in desperate need because then and only then do we fly into action and see that their needs are met.  It’s time that we as the ‘body’ of Christ get off our soap boxes and get on our feet and get the needs to the needy outside of our own existence.  It’s time to wake up and get outside of our comfort zone and see to the Father’s heart not our own backyard ‘so to speak’!

I don’t care if ‘little Billy’ won’t have no presents, I could care less if Judy won’t get her expensive perfume or if Johnny won’t get that new bike.  PEOPLE WAKE UP!  There are families with no food, no shelter and no heat right there in your midst.  I don’t care about the so called CHRISTmas ball there’s no CHRIST in that anyway.  Let’s get going! We are need meters.  We are Kingdom builders.  We are the ‘Body’ and we must start meeting the needs of His heart!  God is crying out, “SEE THEIR HURT”….. I challenge each of you this season to ask the LORD whom He would send (you) to.  He is faithful and when He whispers you be faithful as well!
